Visiting the Nangpa La valley in the Everest region can be combined with the Everest Base Camp trekking route and has become a popular trekking route in recent days. This circuit requires a special permit, as it is on the border of Tibet. The Nangpa La addition can be linked to the Everest Base Camp trek, the Gokyo Valley trek and the trek that crosses Cho La pass.
Trekking to the Nangpa La is one of the most challenging routes in the Everest region. The trekking route passes through Lukla, Namche Bazaar and Thame. It is a popular route with clients of Yatra Himalaya.
We fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (about 45 minutes) followed by a3–4hr walk to Phakding, where we rest for the night. Next day we head to Namche, then subsequently to Thame, where we take time to acclimatise. Then we head on to Lungden, Dragya Phedi, Lunak Dharamsala and Dzasampa. From here we climb up and over into the Gokyo valley via the Renjo La pass (5340m). Following this we visit Gokyo Ri (5360 m), Dzongla (4950m), and hike to Lobuche (4910m). After climbing Kala Patthar we return to Tengboche (3440m) then Namche Bazaar, and at last we descend to Lukla for our flight back to Kathmandu.
This is a very adventurous trek compared with other treks in the Everest region, so only those who are physically strong and have good experience of trekking, including glacier walking, are recommended to consider this trek. However, the success of the trek largely depends upon the trekking team and the experience they have. Therefore, since you are with Yatra Himalaya, you do not have to worry about anything. The well-experienced team will help you not only to have a successful trek, but also give you maximum satisfaction and a wonderful holiday.
