Nepal is not only famous for mountaineering and trekking but also as a paradise for bird watching. There are over 800 species of birds (8% of the world’s total birds). About 500 species of birds are found in the Kathmandu Valley alone, observed around Phulchowki, Godavari, Nagarjun and along the Bagmati River in the valley. Beyond the valley rim, birds are observed in profusion at favourite spots like Chitwan National Park, Bardia National Park, Shey Phoksundo National Park, Rara National Park, Makalu-Barun National Park and the Kosi Tappu wildlife reserve. Keen naturalists and birdwatchers are invited to join Yatra Himalaya Trek on one of its tours.
